How do I get TDS to allow me to input a lower case for my username?

Some users will experience an issue with not being able to input lower case letters for their SmartNet username when using TDS.  All SmartNet usernames are case sensitive, so you must change a setting in TDS to allow for lower case letters to be used.  

Under Settings -> General, you will see a "Always Use ALL CAPS in Edit Fields", uncheck this so you can enter the username properly (see photo).  You can re-check this after a successful connection has been formed if you wish.
