Service Advisory - GLONASS Navigation File Issues Fixed - September 3, 2013

We have applied a new service pack system wide to address the GLONASS navigation file issue that was detailed in the Service Advisory on August 30, 2013 (see link below). Althought this service pack fixes the issues going forward, it is important to remember that some RINEX files will still be effected by this issue prior to this update. Please see the list below to determine the timeline and effects of the GLONASS navigation file issue:

  • RINEX files created before 12 AM ET August 24, 2013 are not effected by the GLONASS navigation file issue and can be used without special care
  • RINEX files created after 12:00 AM ET, August 24, 2013 thru 10:00 AM ET, August 30, 2013 are effected by the GLONASS navigation file issue, if you need to use these files it will require you to turn GLONASS off on import into your processing software and ONLY use GPS data for processing for this period
  • RINEX files created after 10:00 AM ET, August 30, 2013 thru 10:00 PM ET, September 3, 2013 do NOT contain GLONASS observation or navigation data, this was done system wide to curtail end-users issues
  • RINEX files created after 10:00 PM ET, September 3, 2013 are not effected by the GLONASS navigation file issue and can be used without special care

Please advise SmartNet Support if you have any issues or questions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
